Go Dan the Man! South Island Regional Climbing Competition
It was great to see our very own Dan compete for the first time at the NZAA South Island climbing comps. Dan completed all the station events which included an aerial rescue of a dummy, speed climbing and the work climb.
The work climb consisted of five different stations on a large tree that competitors had to climb around and complete in under five minutes. They had to safely anchor into the tree then call “heads” or “below” and finally ring the bell.
The limb toss was throwing a small limb into a target, which was really hard! Only two of the 39 guys participating scored points.
Richard was fortunate enough to be asked to help judge this event.
“After all my years of competing in climbing comps it was a great opportunity to do some judging”.
Daniel didn’t finish in the top six but he had a great day racing all his fancy climbing gear.
Great work Dan.
